We are often asked about the certification our Marine Swords have received from US Marine Corps Systems Command.
There
are many cheap "replica" versions of the Marine NCO Sword and Marine Officer Sword
(Mameluke) on the Internet, more so than
any of the other service swords.
We have found that by having our swords certified by the Marine Corps Systems Command, we can provide customers with some independent assurance that our WKC swords meet Marine Corps specifications and the high standard of the Marine. To gain certification, a vendor or manufacturer must submit their sword to the Marine Corps Systems Command for independent inspection. If the sword is approved the Marine Corps Systems Command issues a certification letter, along with a serial number which must be etched on the spine of the blade.

The Marine Corps also requires that non-fabric uniform
items must be re-certified every three years (see TM10120-15/2,
page 4). As you shop around on the Internet, make sure to note whether
the seller's certification is currently valid and up-to-date. No matter what the other web sites claim, according to Marine Regulations: if the serial number is not on the edge of the blade, the certification is not current.
